HP UX sendmail relaying

I have an HP-UX box that I'm sending mail from out to a number of users. Recently we starting sending mail to a new domain which basically has the form of @my.olddomain.com - all that we added was the "my.". The problem is that the Unix box sees everything that is going to this address as local and it tries to see ti directly instead of using the specified smart host. Is there a way to specify that everything from a certain domain is non-local. Or, is there a way to tell the Unix box to look at more than just the end of the domain name?

Thanks.

Re: HP UX sendmail relaying

Shalom,

You must have something in the sendmail configuration that overrides the smart relay.

I am guessing the system's hostname is servername.my.olddomain.com and/or sendmail is configured to bypass the smart relay.

Options:

If you have compiled a sendmail configuration from .mc files, send the .mc files up to this thread.

Otherwise post this:
hostname
sendmail.cf

Mail logs showing how the mail is routing.

/var/adm/syslog/mail.log

It would be helpful to know your sendmail version and OS version.

Re: HP UX sendmail relaying

I was actually able to get this working by setting up a mailertable to specify all mail from the my.domain.com domain to go to the relay.

Thanks for your help.
