HP VISUALISE C3000/IP ADDRESS WIPED OUT AFTER REBOOT
i tried configure the ethernet built-in card with an ip address but the ip
address gets wiped out after reboot ( the lan card does not keep the ip address
)
and when i configure an ip address manualy through
ifconfig and give /sbin/init.d/net stop & start it gives this message [ERROR :
lan0 interface:ifconfig:ioctl (siogifaddr) an not assign requested address also
this message is given after in
/etc/rc.log while startup and the CDE hangs.
lan configuration is tried from set_parms,sam so it keeps it but once the
system boots it vanishes with ip address 0.0.0.0.
any help is highly appreciated

Re: HP VISUALISE C3000/IP ADDRESS WIPED OUT AFTER REBOOT
Sharif, make sure you only have one /etc/rc.config/netconf. After using the
ifconfig command, ensure you have also added this card to the netconf so that
it will configure it upon bootup. If you need anymore assistance, please post
me on the Networking forum.
thanks
Berlene
