HP applications on Linux

Hi guys,
I own a dv4290ea equipped with WinXP.
I'm going to install a linux distro and wish to know if there is an "HP wireless assistant" for linux in order to activate/deactivate the wireless devices through the laptop button.

If yes, is there an HP site where I can download the various HP specific application for linux?

Thank you

Shalom Gherardo,

I believe these app's have not been ported to Linux. If your laptop is not certified for Linux this could be a very difficult project.

Much of the hardware hp uses in windows laptops is not suported by Linux.

l have an HP zv6000 running Redhat Fedora core 4 and have the internal wireless card with bluetooth.

l use netgo (http://netgo.hjolug.org/) or "wireless assistent" (http://wlassistant.sourceforge.net).

Of course you'll probably have to use ndiswrapper to get your wireless card up and working.
