HPUX 10.20

Due to some significant HW changes and a few other issues, I have decided that it will be easier for me to wipe-out and startover new BUT now my CD(s) are not good.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of HPUX v10.20 for HP K220 9000 K Class system?

Does anyone have a copy just collecting dust?

Because of application/OS specific software I can not move up to HPUX v11xxx

Thank you
David

Re: HPUX 10.20

Hi,

due to end of support of HP-UX 10.20 in date June03, I don't think you can order that version yet.
Also if you have problems on operating system you can forget telephone number of HP support. They won't support you!

I would suggest to solve problem with those application/OS. I never heard that a software can be installed on HP-UX 10.20 and no 11.x! If so then I don't think those applications are good.

Would you believe me if I told you there was one for sale out on ebay:

Re: HPUX 10.20

Kent, just looked it is only the HP-UX Applications Release 10.20 CD-ROM :-) not the core OS.

Re: HPUX 10.20

I do realize that 10.20 is no longer supported by HP but the software that I have has not been "offically" tested under 11.0 or higher.

The release on EBay is for B C & J class systems. Which I have TWO complete sets for those system but to my understanding that class of systems are not compatible with K Class.

I'm still digging, thanks

Re: HPUX 10.20

David,

You're right -- before 11.x, the 700-series and 800-series HP9000's required separate code. What's the problem with your existing CD's? Did they get damaged or lost? Where are you located, geographically? Are your systems on HP support? (Know a friendly HP ASC or CE who might help out?)

Re: HPUX 10.20

David,

I might just be able to help you, I think(emphasise think) I have a set at home. I will check and let you know on Monday(I'll be away for the weekend!).

I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet though.

Re: HPUX 10.20

The system had been running v10.10 since I got it and I thought that I had an updgrade CD set but I am not able to find it. I recently retired 2 other system that had been running v10.20 but they are for the smaller class systems. I have a good enough background to support my systems and the problems that come up so I have rarely needed HP support (this form helps a lot).

I am located in Montana which also hinders in hw support.

Re: HPUX 10.20

Hi David,

Today is your lucky day!

We used to have some remote systems running 10.20. I am a pack rat, and I am looking at a stack of 10.20 CDs I just dug out of one of my desk drawers. I have an HP9000 Series 8XX Install and Core OS CD right here in front of me, along with a couple of sets of the Application CDs, and even a couple of 10.20 Support Plus CDs.

I'll temporarily modify my forum profile so that you can pick up my e-mail address here at work, and we'll work out the details.
