HPUX 11.3 Itanium stack executable bit setting
Greetings,
I was just reviewing kernel settings in HPUX 11.3, and I can see that the kernel param for executable_stack is set to zero. And, on my old PARISC stuff, this was set to on.
I know what this is for, and I'm happy it's there and set to 0. However, will I need it "on" to run my applications ORACLE ERP database tier (Oracle 10g2) ?
So the question is, those of you out there running Oracle 10g or 11g - what is this set to? Info is highly appreciated, esp if running Oracle database 10 or 11, - and even more so if running Oracle ERP system on that database.

Re: HPUX 11.3 Itanium stack executable bit setting
I would hope nobody tries to execute instructions out of the stack. Only out of the heap or hatever Java uses.
