I have got a funny problem relating HPUX11i-OE-MC
with Tachyon XL2 fiber channels connected to a Brocade 2800 Fiber Switch ( Direct Fabric Attached ).As soon as I plug the fibers into the system, the system crashes and reboots. I have checked all the drivers, cable and so on and all checks out. Where can I start looking for the problem, or what suggestions have you got?
Please Help?
Regards Daniel

SolutionIt will be a subdirectory. I'm attaching a document that will help you analyze the dump and prepare for analysis that can pinpoint a problem with a patch or driver.
Next, you did not indicate whether you actually installed the drivers for the card.
Install the drivers off the application cd's or downloaded from http://software.hp.com or patch http://itrc.hp.com prior to connecting the cards to the array.
Most likely it will involve a kernel patch and the system will need to boot.
Try this and get back to us for more help.

Re: HPUX11i and Fiber Channels
Thanks for the great note on q4 and processing crash dumps ( learned a lot ). I have noticed that it could be a hardware problem cause of the output from the logs, and will invetsigate, but for your reply I think you deserve a 10.
I will keep you posted on this issue.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Regards
Daniel
