Hardware RAID support with 2.6 kernel for new DL320 G3's or old Dl320 G2's IDE?
We have some DL320 G2's with the LSI logic megaraid ide 100 controller. Apparently the driver has been deprecated for kernel 2.6. Has anyone gotten RHEL 4.0 or Fedora to use hardware RAID with this hardware?
Apart from the SCSI RAID controllers, are any of the RAID controllers (SATA or IDE) on the DL320 G3 supported by RHEL 4.0 or Fedora core 3?
Thanks in advance,
Alan

I have noticed a lot of good raid controllers never got set drivers to work in FC3 and ES4.
It is most annoying. I had rocket raid cards that worked in FC2 and will not boot a FC3 kernel. Red hat is mum on thsi. The card works just fine.
Software raid may work as a substitude.

l've tried to set up software raid, however have had no success.
Made both disks RAID partitions, but then could not create the partitions once l mirrored them.
Is there a trick to it?
How much of a performance hit can one expect using software RAID on a 3.06ghz DL320?
How easy is it to recover from a broken mirror?
Thanks in advance,
Alan
