Help?? Disk drive replaced, now it stops 1/2 way thru bootup???

I have a HP Pavilion N5000/OmniBook XE3. Someone replaced the disk drive with HDD2157.

It boots up part way thru Fedora Core (2.6.9-1681_FC3smp)
Stops after it uncompresses Linux... at 'booting kernel it says--'

"APCI: BIOS age (1992) fails cutoff (2001), acpi=force is required to enable ACPI
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 4 of device 0000:00:07.1"
After this it checks "Red Hat, volumes, INIT:, ect... "
Stops at - "Configuring kernel parameters:_ "

Now I'm new at this and trying to do it on my own/with your help please.?? I've been all over the net and haven't got an answer yet maybe someone can help me here??
Thanks

Shalom,

The answer may be that the "somebody" who replaced the disk drive used one that does not work right with the BIOS of the notebook computer. You may need a different disk or distribution of Linux.

HP Pavillion notebooks are noteworthy for the lack of Linux support. Driver support for video and apparently now disk is close to non-existent.

This laptop is not Linux friendly to say the least.

You may want to try a newer version of Fedora Core. You are using Version 3 and the hardware support in Version 8 or 9 might be better.
