Re: How many users does an L2000 support?
It a difficult guess, it depends on what else the box is running (RDBMS, SAS, JAVA...), an example: I have a D220/HPUX11 512MB running SAS it will support 5 CDE concurently with another 20-30 hpterm connections or 40 X connections with SASv8 under X, and a D230/HPUX11 512MB running 2 oracle database, I am the only CDE but at some times its dead slow...
AS a guess I would say 40-50 users without any trouble, 100 with some swapping...
Just my 2 cents
All the best
Victor

Re: How many users does an L2000 support?
What app(s) are you running? It makes a HUGE difference!
If it's a database, it depends on the data sizes, index sizes, etc...
If it's telnet or FTP then it depends more on network speed than CPU.
If it's web, then it depends on if it's java, CGI, server side forms?
Regards,
Shannon

Re: How many users does an L2000 support?
Were running Exceed users on our L2000 with 2 cpus and 2GB RAM. It entirely depends on what other windows open, eg.
Just logging into CDE uses a minimum of 3MB per user.
If they run the filemanager, help windows etc. these add several hundred K more per user.
If each user runs Netscape - will thats 10MB ea ++
If users run dtterms these are about 1.2MB ea.
If users run shells these are about 300K ea.
Youve got to add all this up to get a better picture.
