How to change NIC ppa number

Hello,

A NIC has been replaced in my workstation and the ppa number is now different

I would like to have lan0,1,2 instead of lan0,2,3
How can I rename lan3 to lan1 ?

Regards,
Olivier

Re: How to change NIC ppa number

If you want to change the name from lan3 to lan1, I *think* you can you do it by editing /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file. Change the INTERFACE_NAME.
But the lan card should not be in use.

Re: How to change NIC ppa number

Hi,
you have to use ioinit to change instance number of your lan card.

look at this link:

Re: How to change NIC ppa number

no, /etc/rc.config.d/netconf is not for changing the ppa. you should reorganize the IO tree in order to get another ppa for the device.
