How to change temp directory?

As we know, by default TMP and TEMP variables are pointed to =C:\DOCUME~1\username\LOCALS~1\Temp

How I can change this for all existing local users?
In fact, if I'll be able to change Winzip setting for temorary dir, it will be enough.(there is no enough free space on C:, and I'd like to re-point it to D:.)

thanks,
Vitaly

Re: How to change temp directory?

You can change in the environment settings, under my computer properties.

Hi Vitaly

You can change from it: Control panel - Performance and Maintenance - System - Advanced tab.

Re: How to change temp directory?

Right Click on "My Computer" goto "Properties. Click on the "Advanced" tab. Then click on "Environment Variables".

Here you will find you User and System Variables. Hope this helps!

Re: How to change temp directory?

Dear All, thanks for your answers! I know about this tab, but AFAIK this way I can change user settings only for *current* user. And I need change TEMP variable for *all* users.

Re: How to change temp directory?

hi

Try this:

Open regedit and find the tree:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment

Good luck!

Re: How to change temp directory?

Thanks to all!
Unfortunately, it seems that current versions of MS Win don't provide a answer to my question.
