How to mount new Storage to a HP-UX 11.0 cluster
we´ve got a new storage, an Infortend S24F.
It can be seen with "fcsmutil",
but is not identified as "disk" with ioscan

Port Type = N_PORT
Target Port World Wide Name =0x220000d02307f4fa
Target Node World Wide Name =0x200000d02307f4fa

Re: How to mount new Storage to a HP-UX 11.0 cluster
did you add a new fc card and reboot the system? or just re-use a card installed?
if you havent rebooted the system to pick up the new storage did you do a insf command?
#insf -e
or
#insf -H (hardware paths)
and on the storage update the wwid numbers accordingly

Re: How to mount new Storage to a HP-UX 11.0 cluster
we used the old fc card and only replaced the storage. We also rebooted the system. I can see the path to the Infortrend, but I could not use it as a disk. The main problem is, that my Infortrend storage cannot see the wwn of my fc card. I think it is a configuration issue of my Infortrend storage and the old UNIX based HP-UX. But I have no clue where to start.
Bye,
Michael

Re: How to mount new Storage to a HP-UX 11.0 cluster
I do not know much about the infotend arrays, but is it actually supported on hpux 11.00
It might help you to go through this doc, if you havent seen it yet.
http://www.infortrend.com/doc/appNote/App%20Note_EonStor%20in%20HP-UX.pdf
you may also get more help from the HPUX sys admin forum

Re: How to mount new Storage to a HP-UX 11.0 cluster
thank you for the manual - I didn`t know it.
Unfortunately it doesn't help me much, because we don't have Veritas.

If yes, then the FC is talking to it properly and the issues is more likely configuration on the array.
