How to reduce the resync time about Oracle 8i DB with BC

I have a HP-UX 11.11 server with XP12000 storage and BC(Business Copy) machanism and a Oracle 8i DB which have 300 tablespaces.
There are 4 times per day of resync jobs.
I create standby control file and alter all tablespaces begin backup when BC resync.
After split of BC using at-time-split mode, I alter all tablespaces end backup.
After that, I can open a read only standby DB at backup site for reporting service. If DR happen, I can apply DB's archive log files to standby DB and change it to be a product server.
But it takes a long long times(over 1hr) when I alter all tablespaces begin backup.
Is there any solution which can match my request(reporting and apply archive)?
Or, how to speed up the "alter tablespace XXX begin backup"?

P.S. This thread has been moved from Business Recovery Planning to HP-UX > databases. -HP Forum Moderator

Hi,

"But it takes a long long times(over 1hr) when I alter all tablespaces begin backup."

Why do you use "begin backup"? Don't you use RMAN?

In what kind of filesystems are your redolog files? RAID 1+0, RAID 0+1, RAID 5, RAID 10, etc...
