How to restart mirroing after split mirroring!

Hello All,

I have a two node SG cluster (A.11.18). I have mirrored the External/Internal(root) disks and done the split mirroring and removed the primary disk when mirroring is done. My system continue to work using mirror disk. Now i want to restart the mirroring on the same (which was removed) or another disk. Please suggest how to do that.?

Regards,
Amit

Not sure what you have done?

if you have replaced a root disk, you can use vgcfgrestore to put the vg data back in place and vgsync to re-mirror the data.

lvdisplay -v path_to_lv | grep stale | wc -l

can be used to give you an idea of how long is left.

If the LVs are not mirrored any more and you removed the disk from the volume group you will use the same procedure to recreate the mirror that you used to create it initially.

If you mirrored your system, pulled out the disk and tested your mirrors. Normally if you put the disk back and activate the volume group it should sync up the mirrors.

Hi,
I use some docs
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/5991-1236/When_Good_Disks_Go_Bad_WP.pdf
http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90950/ch06s02.html#cchgjafa
another good doc about lvm is the handbook. I have an old release.

Others thing, if you just want to do a split just do a lvsplit without a vgreduce after you could do a lvmerge.
