Howto install Linux Debian with smart 641 ?
I can't manage to install a Debian on a HP Proliant ML350G3 server with a smart 641.
I tried with a Woody and with a Sid. No way.
The smart 641 is not recognised on boot, so the installer does not see the HDDs.
Any idea how to get it work ?

Re: Howto install Linux Debian with smart 641 ?
Is it possible to install a hard disk into your server that is not on the smart controller?
If so then you can install the OS to a seperate disk and then build a kernel with the proper drivers to operate the smart controller and the rest of your system, then copy the OS from the first disk onto the smart array, and boot from there. You may need to keep a small boot partition on the seperate disk just to boot with.
Its a pretty long process but it should work.
I hope that helps.
