Hyperfabric, RAC, SAN
Hi.
I'm currently testing a RAC installation on HP-UX with MCSG OPS. Oracle recommand to set a seperate HyperFabric interconnection between host. Does it realy required ? Can I do the same think with my Brocade switch and emulate IP over Fibre Channel ?
Thanks

Re: Hyperfabric, RAC, SAN
It is recommended, but not required. On the startup, the database will find an open connection and listen on it for the other nodes. If a Hyperfabric card is active on the system, it will automaticlly use that to the exclusion of everything else.
FYI though, you will want to have a fast connection between the nodes, as the slower it is the worse your cluster will do. The good part about Hyperfabric is that it is very fast.
