ICAP to enable cpu's

Hi ICAP Gurus,

I'm very new to ICAP so please excuse the little I know about it. I have the ICAP product licensed and now I'm trying to find out how I enable 4 cores on a cell that can be given usage rights. An icapstatus shows that 4 cores are available for being given usage rights for temporary status.

How do I go about doing this??

Thanks,
KPS

Shalom,

What is it you want to do, get permanent status?

Maybe these links will help.

Re: ICAP to enable cpu's

Hi,

Are you wanting to activate some temoporary iCAP? Assuming you have some TiCAP CPU hours available which should be shown on the icapstatus:

Temporary capacity available: 20 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes

Then you can enable a CPU core with the command:

icapmodify -a 1 -t "Turn on TiCAP for whatever purpose:KRS"

Add a more descriptive message and user name if you wish.

Remember this is now burning money, so as soon as you no longer need it, turn it off again:

icapmodify -d 1 -t "Turn off TiCAP for whatever purpose:KRS"

If you have the ICAP certificate it also contain the procedure how to activate the ICAP processor.
