IDS-10.00 - Error in oncheck -cr

Hi All,

I am running a server on HP-UX 11i with an application and informix 10.00.FC8

While running oncheck -cr it gives me the following error:

Validating PAGE_1PCHUNK & PAGE_2PCHUNK...
Using primary chunk page PAGE_2PCHUNK.
Error reading from the disk. Error No. 6.
Error reading from the disk. Error No. 6.

Error no 6, i believe is OS related that the there was some error while accessing the data. However i am unable to see any details in the syslog for any errors on disks.

Any help to move forward with the trouble shooting or resolution will be highly appreciated.

P.S. Sorry if the query is extremely beginner :)

Regards

Shalom,

A bit more detail would be helpful.

This error, based on my very limited Informix experience either results from lack of file permissions or incorrect path being used by the utility.

Re: IDS-10.00 - Error in oncheck -cr

Hi Steven,

Appreciate your response. Just for record, i managed to figure out the problem. During oncheck -cr, it verifies the last page of every chunk and somehow the size of two of the chunks were larger than the raw devices they were pointing to, hence it was unable to read the last page and showed error as if the device is missing.

I recreated the two dbspaces and chunks with proper size as per the raw device and it resolved the problem.
