Informix 4GL -> Java/HTTP/RMI etc

Hi

After several years of stand alone service I am getting requests to allow transfer of data between Informix database 4GL and Java programs, possibly using RMI (again something new to me) or HTTP requests.

Preference is not to write something in C unless we really have to but does anyone have details of any utilities or general information on this.
