Install DeskJet 2500CM_Hp-UX11.0_C3600 w Jetadmin?

I have a C3600 with HP-UX 11.0 and need to insyall a Deskjet 2500CM via Jetadmin.
Could anybody advise me about it, step by step?

Firstly you need to ensure Jetadmin is installed.
Do the command> swlist -l bundle

And you should see the following product;

J2559C D.06.21 Hewlett-Packard JetAdmin for Unix Utility

If not, then you need to download it and install it. You can download it from

Then run /opt/hpnp/bin/jetadmin

Select option 1) to Configure a new printer
The option 3) to add an entry to the local spooler
Now input the IP Address of your printer.

Then from the large list give select the one which is nearest to your printer model (Deskjet 2000?)

You may need to select how your printer is connected, then change the printer queue name from the default to something more meaningful, then entry 0) to configure it, and your done! Now you can lp -d to print to it.

Yes, the JetAdmin 6.21 is intaled, and I can print to a Plotter.
But I can?t find the printer type.
Is a Desjet 2500CM P/N C2685 A.

JetAdmin is a little old now, there isnt a newer version on the HP download site newer than 1999, hence you cant find the exact model for your 2500 printer. Just select the next best one, deskjet 2000. It should work perfectly aok.

JetAdmin has been replaced by WebJetAdmin, the latest version of should have the correct diver for your 2500. Check out this page for more details and where to download it;
