Re: Install new software from remote PC

hi.

U have to export the PC CDROM drive ie E:/ or F:/ and mount that to ur HP-UX system thru "nfs". For exporting ur Cd drive u have to install some software in ur PC like (XThinkPro ) by which u can do these nfs things..after installing Xthinkpro u can make ur PC as a NFS server, u export the CD ie E:/ ..login to the server.
# showmount -e "ur PC's IP address"

mount what is displayed..and do swinstall..

thats all

Hi,

you may use the cifsclient on HP-UX 11 to mount a pc-share. Then you do not need nfs.

There are some messages inside this forum how to use it. Just search for it.
