Installaing Oracle 10 on a system already running Oracle 9.2

Hi,

I am planning to install Oracle 10 on HP-UX PARISC 11.23 Version. We have Oracle 9.2 already running on the system.

Can I do the Oracle 10 installation on the system without affecting the Oracle 9.2 ?

If you have any document for Oracle 10 installation on HP-UX 11.23, Pls send it to me.

Thanks

hi,

You can do it in another ORACLE_HOME as mentioned above.

However, make sure that this does not impact on your Oracle 9.2 installation if it is a production one. You may wish to run the RDA script (which is available from Metalink) to validate your environment. There will be definitely some changes to be made at the kernel level etc.

All the best.
