Re: Installaing RH on HP Pavillion ze 5400
If not, many ze4000/5000 users find it necessary to use the nousb, nopcmcia, and/or nomce options when starting their installation program.

Re: Installaing RH on HP Pavillion ze 5400
Its the firewire device thats freezing it
get past this by passing the command
linux noauto or linux nofirewire
at the install screen where it promts you to install or choose expert settings.
Im sorry I cant be of more help but Im new to it myself.
further to this try searching on google.com/linux
or...
justlinux.com
linuxquestions.org
both of the above forums have plenty of info covering this particular problem
Regards
Scott
