Installation Problem with HP netserver 1000r

Hallo ,
I need to install a Redhat Enterprise 4 AS.
I have a "HP netserver 1000r", but when i try to install i have a error that cannot find a disk to create a file system, i think that is a driver problem. I found driver-pack12r7.gz but it work with a redhat 7 and not work whith a redhat 9 . HELP ME

Re: Installation Problem with HP netserver 1000r

Shalom,

I've had similar problems with HP net servers.

The problem is that the drivers for the disk were not built into RH 4. You either need to try the RH 7 or 9 drivers (9 is your best bet), prepare the disk or perhps use RH 3 on the systems.

There comes a point where the hardware is simply too old and you may be there.

As I remember there are two options with the LP1000 - netraid or direct SCSI. Direct SCSI should work. If I remember correctly, I've had RH4 running on a lp1000 with SCSI. I think it is an Adaptec SCSI interface.
