Installing HP-UXi on SR870BN4 Server
I am trying to install HP-UXi v2 (11.23) on a SR870BN4 Server but it won't let me type anything it once i get to the "Language Mapping screen". I am using the usb connected keyboard and it is happy with the keyboard prior to this but once it gets to the "Language Mapping screen" i cannot type anything in. Does anyone have an idea what i could be doing wrong?

Re: Installing HP-UXi on SR870BN4 Server
i only know it as "Intel├В┬оServer Platform SR870BN4" what other name would it go by? I think it a few years old and it is not a new machine so maybe the naming have changed.

Re: Installing HP-UXi on SR870BN4 Server
It should be something like an RX???? wheren '????' a 4 digit number.
There should be a label on the system itself that tells you what it is.

Re: Installing HP-UXi on SR870BN4 Server

http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sr870bn4/sb/sr870bn4_thol_2_1.pdf
hp-ux is not listed.
In the past, hp-ux was supported on a few 3rd party platforms, but not on this.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Installing HP-UXi on SR870BN4 Server
I *thought* the license to use hpux was tied to the fact that you purchased an hp server? i.e. having the installation media is not sufficient?
If the above is correct there are probably a bunch of legal issues here as well as the hardware headaches.
