Installing Redhat Enterprise 4 x86 on DL360 G5
Hi,
I'm trying to install Redhat Enterprise 4 on a DL360 G5 using 2 mirrored disks on the onboard Smart Array P400i controller. Installer can't detect controller and the server doesn't have a floppy drive to use the driver from HP.com.
Can anybody advise a way to get around this? I've tried selecting the LSI Fusion MPT drivers from the list but still get the message that no valid devices were found to create new filesystems.
Would appreciate some wisdom!
Thanks.
Paul

Re: Installing Redhat Enterprise 4 x86 on DL360 G5
This controler is supported with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 2 - this is the minimum update.
Take a look for drivers and specifications - http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/dl360g5-drivers-cert.html
regards,
ivan

Hello Paul,
Afaik,P400i should work with cciss drivers which is part of the base OS media.
MPT driver may not be necessary.
Btw,is it RHEL4 U4?
Whats the kernel version?
