Installing Ubuntu on HP Proliant DL 80

Hi,

I just bought HP Proliant DL 80 Gen 9 server and i want to install Ubuntu 14.04. I am new to Linnux platform.

Can sombody help me with the same? Is there any documentation avalaible form which i can do this?

Boot the system and press F9 during POST. under systyem configuration - SATA controlelr settings,  disable B140i Mode and set it to AHCI.  Save the settings and reboot. Boot from your Ubuntu media and install the OS.

I have H240 Smart Array HBA installed. Do i need to follow same steps as you mentioned for this one also?

Should i configure RAID before OS installation or after installtion?

No, the H240 uses the the hpsa driver which is in the Linux kernel. The B140i uses a special driver not available for Ubuntu.  Configure your RAID on the H240 and boot the installer.
