Is license needed for upgrading the HP-UX OS?

Hi,

I have one rx 2660 server with hp-ux version 11.23. I want to upgrade it to 11.31.

 My question is since we have support for the avbove mentioned hardware till December 2013, now if I upgrade the OS from 11.23 to 11.31, Can I be able to avail the support from HP on the same license or do I need to buy another license for new OS 11.31?

Can you be more specific on what support you have? It's not really relevant taht you have hardware support. If you have software support for the 11iv2 OS, and that includes "updates" (it usually does, but you will need to check), then yes, you can upgrade to 11iv3 for no additional charge.

Also what HP-UX Operating Environment do you have on the system at the moment, as they have changed in 11iv3, and which one you are able to upgrade to will depend on what you had before.
