Japanese HP-UX 11 v2?
Is there another version of the software for japanese?
I noticed during installation, i could select the languages and japanese is an option which could be selected as a default.
Can i just select english(default) and japanese, and change it to japanese after install?
thanks in advance

Re: Japanese HP-UX 11 v2?
I think the langage you select affects the localizable messages displayed by the products. If you select Japanese, you may get Japanese messages instead of English.

Re: Japanese HP-UX 11 v2?
you could try to change the lcoale:
1. run "locale" to identify current "LANG" setting
2. edit /etc/rc.config.d/LANG. Insert
# LANG=jp.xxx
# export LANG

So far you have not awarded any points !

Re: Japanese HP-UX 11 v2?
Thanks
Does editing the /etc/rc.config.d/LANG file changes the locale to that lang whenever someone logs in?
Sorry, i'm pretty new at this, both at this forum and hp-ux.
Sure do, will look at the tips on points.

Re: Japanese HP-UX 11 v2?
Have managed to perform this task by:
1) setting the locale for the user
by editing the .dtprofile
2) by editing the xconfig file (for all)
by changing the dt*login.language to desired.
