Job vanishing act on HP-UX
Hi,
i have oracle10g 10.2.0.2.0 installed on HP-UX machine,Any alarm which is an One time alarm (scheduler_type = ONCE) after creating the job and enabling it vanishes even though the schedule was 1 hour later.The dbms_scheduler_log shows the status as failed .
here is the sequence
begin
dbms_scheduler.create_job(job_name => 'Alert_2',
job_type => 'STORED_PROCEDURE',
job_action => 'AlarmManagement.ExecuteAlert',
auto_drop => true,
start_date => sysdate + (10/(24*60)),
end_date => null,
repeat_interval => null,
enabled => false,
comments => 'Job for ' ||
upper('Alert_2'),
number_of_arguments => 1);
dbms_scheduler.set_job_argument_value(job_name => 'Alert_2',
argument_position => 1,
argument_value => to_char(22));
end ;
here in the dba_scheduler_jobs we can find the 'Alert_2' and start time as 10 mins later in start_time.
next i do this
begin
dbms_scheduler.enable(upper('Alert_2'));
end ;
After this the job executes immediately and is not present in the dba_scheduler_jobs table at all.
Please suggest a way out of this .

Re: Job vanishing act on HP-UX
Hi,
Maybe you are facing a bug.
Can you try to specify everything in the create_job statement itself?
e.g.
begin
dbms_scheduler.create_job (
job_name => 'Alert_2',
start_date => sysdate + (10/(24*60)),
job_type => 'STORED_PROCEDURE',
repeat_interval => NULL,
job_action => 'AlarmManagement.ExecuteAlert',
number_of_arguments => 1,
argument_value => to_char(22),
enabled => TRUE,
auto_drop => false
);
end;
/
revert.
kind regards
yogeeraj
