I was wondering if anyone knew how to stop my soft ware applications from causing an illegal operation when i close them.... EXAMPLE... I run Dfrag and when it prompts me to close it(defrag has completed it's task)that is when i get the error...
I get the same thing running screensavers... i have my computer configured for no screensavers because of this.... Closing out games and all sorts of things is causing a problem In KERNEL32.DLL... Maybe someone knows something and can help me out here... thanks.

Solution
Jeremy -- a little more info, please? What version of OS are you running? Have you installed any patches lately?
When did the problem start? Most likely, you installed software and/or hardware prior to the onset of these problems. Have you removed that yet? Or if you had an updated OS, did you reapply the patch after installing the software?

Re: KERNEL32.DLL .... Problems
if you running NT 4.0 install the latest service pack (SP 6a)
if you have Win95/98/ME try copying the kernel32.dll from another computer and replace the one you got.
sounds to me like you may have a corrupt kernel32.dll
