Keyboard BEEEEP!

How do I permanently remove the beep emitted by the system
(HP Visualize) when it encounters an error, say it can't complete the filename or path.
The temp fix is to turn it off in the desktop config.

Re: Keyboard BEEEEP!

The only way to do that is to open the Visualize box and disconnect the loud speaker cable. There is NO other way (it's a pity but it's the case).

Good luck.

Re: Keyboard BEEEEP!

Hi,

you could try and add te following line to your $HOME/.bashrc or /etc/bashrc:

set bell-style none

and then log back in. This will only work if you're using the bourne again shell, trough.
