Keyboard Freeze when installing RH 9
i am trying to install RH 9 on my ze5250. It loads the "ohci1394 driver" and than the PCI driver. After that a message comes stating "To begin testing the CD media before installation press Ok"
But at this moment the keyboard stops responding. Pressing any key has no effect on the screen. This is the same problem another user has and there was no response to there question. I hope someone has the answer...
Thanks,
-Frank

Re: Keyboard Freeze when installing RH 9
Hi.
Do you know if there's gpm running at the time it happens ? I remember similar issues with Debian - keyboard would freeze when gpm was started and no mouse was attached.

Re: Keyboard Freeze when installing RH 9
Try passing the "nousb" parameter when starting the installer.
E.g. type "linux nousb" in the first installer screen.
At least that's what my omnibook xe4500 needs so RedHat doesn't freeze the keyboard.
Good luck,
c

Re: Keyboard Freeze when installing RH 9
Hi,
On my laptop it freezes too. I have by-passed this problem by typing :
linux apm=off acpi=off
on the first screen of the installation program.
Good luck.
