LED lights flash on dv5000

i have a Dv5000 laptop and the led lights flash, the power and the charge LED will flash on and off and the power will switch to battery, and will stay like this until i unplug and replug the power cord. but it does not solve the problem. could someone help shed some light on to this LED error message of sorts
