LINUX on rx2600

Is there now any stable linux distribution on HP's new Itanium2 box "RX2600". What are they?

Re: LINUX on rx2600

Hi,

Debian, RedHat, SuSE, Mandrake provided or at least made announcements Linux distros for IA64. They should work out-of-the-box.

Good luck.

Re: LINUX on rx2600

Is the IA-64 Linux for Itanium also able to run on Itanium 2? The chipset is rather different from RX4610 to RX2600/RX5610.

Re: LINUX on rx2600

I'm sorry. RX2600/RX5670(Itanium2) is based on the same chipset call "ZX" from HP. But previous Itanium servers have a very different chipset.

Re: LINUX on rx2600

Hi

HP's Itanium2 servers are using zx1 chipset. So you can not install Linux for IA64 without special driver from HP.
You should contact to your local HP.

Hi,

You can check :

It provides a list of certified distributions on Itanium2.

Good luck.
