Linux AS 3 update7 unable to detect MSL library

Currently i have a Dl380 G5 server with a direct connection to the MSL 2048 Library using scsi. The server has been installed with Linux OS. But the suprising part is that i'm able to detect the tape drive but not the MSL Library.

Check if you are using the FC cards drivers compatible to the MSL library.

Hi Santosh,

As mention by me that the MSL library is using SCSI cable, and is directly connect to the server.

Shalom,

Is your OS on the support list?
Not every RH release is suppoorted though yours should be.

Are all recommended drivers for the OS isntalled?

Re: Linux AS 3 update7 unable to detect MSL library

Hi,

Can you confirm that you're connecting the library to a SCSI card, rather than the SCSI port on a SmartArray controller of some form.

If the latter, then it's not supported...

Cheers,

Rob
