Linux Driver for HP Pavilion a420n Video Driver Wanted!

I'm having troubles with my linux OS and my video card. My monitor flickers due to a too low refresh rate. And so far we've been unable to change the setting from 60Hz. So I'm looking for a driver for the video card that is linux compatible.
Thanks!!

I don't suppose you could show us what the contents of the 'Display' section of your '/etc/X11/XF86Config' are?

EndSubsection

Subsection "Display"

Virtual 1280 1024
EndSubsection

Subsection "Display"

#Modes "1280x1024"
#Virtual 1280 1024
Modes "1024x768"
Virtual 1024 768

Let me know if you need more information. Thanks again!

Hello Heather,

also information on what type of video card and monitor you actually have installed would be useful. Plus which Linux distro and version you use (e.g. RedHat 7.3, Fedora, SuSE 8.2 etc.)

Greetings, Martin
