Linux/Mandrake and Conexant softK56

Hi,

Has anyone been able to get the Conexant 56K Modem in the HP8660C to work with
Linux Mandrake?

I have a feeling its a Win Modem, which the Linux OS does not like using
(Drivers are Windows type)

This is indeed a WinModem (hence 'soft'56k). I know of no way to get this
modem working under Linux.

Yup, but it ain't very clean.

Read the comments, some of the folks there reported succesful installs.
