SolutionYou can go to http://www.hp.com and click servers then integrity and get an idea what fiber cards work with Linux.

rx7620 and rx8620
HP-UX 11i v2
Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Datacenter Edition
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3
OpenVMS (available 2005)
You may have a hardware problem with the Fiber card but I don't think so.
If you click a link in this page for How to buy, you may find a vendor you can talk to about fiber.

I would LOVE to run RH AS 3 on a rx server. Only thing is I'd love to run HP-UX on it more.
