Live CD

Hi,

Please suggest simple way to have linux on CD.

i have Kernel and root file system files which needs to be put on a CD. i should be able to boot from the CD and then i want to run some customized scripts.

Ubunto lets you boot off a live cd before deciding whether or not to install.

sysrescuecd is one of the best.

knoppix has a very good on.

Centos has a good one two.

Pick your distribution they all have one. CD's after boot are not writeable so you will need to edit and run your scripts on disk which is writable after a livecd boot.

This keeps an up to date database of linux distributions and there are tons of live CD there..

Follow Yvan link if what you want is to create your own Redhat/Fedora live CD great stuff.

Not sure which distro you are working with, or if you downloaded and modifed a vanilla kernel from http://www.kernel.org/. You can usually find good howto's via google for this. Other thatn that I like to use DSL Linux. I have it on a USB drive. Here is a link to a howto of getting dsl on a pen drive:
