Re: Live CD

Shalom,

Ubunto lets you boot off a live cd before deciding whether or not to install.

sysrescuecd is one of the best.

knoppix has a very good on.

Centos has a good one two.

Pick your distribution they all have one. CD's after boot are not writeable so you will need to edit and run your scripts on disk which is writable after a livecd boot.

Re: Live CD

Not sure which distro you are working with, or if you downloaded and modifed a vanilla kernel from http://www.kernel.org/. You can usually find good howto's via google for this. Other thatn that I like to use DSL Linux. I have it on a USB drive. Here is a link to a howto of getting dsl on a pen drive:

Re: Live CD

For a rather extensive list of Live CDs, I suggest you check out this URL: http://www.frozentech.com/content/livecd.php

I would also think that you might want to try to do something about this following line from your profile:

I have assigned points to 23 of 42 responses to my questions.

It is a simple thing to assign points to all of your responses and it is a good way to give back to the community here.

Re: Live CD

Seems to be a lot of debian fans these days.
