Re: Location of /stand mount point ?
Yes, Im getting all that but my question is this:
bdf shows that /stand isnt mounted on lvol1, rather lvol13 (actually this exists on 2 servers).
Whats the fix ?

Re: Location of /stand mount point ?
We know the system boots fine. We also know that lvlnboot seems to produce the correct info. What is off is that fstab and bdf shows a different mount point.
So, what do you think the fix is?
thks

Re: Location of /stand mount point ?
save_config: warning - /dev/vg00/lvol1 has an umounted VxFS filesystem on it. Therefore, any file system content in /dev/vg00/lvol1 will not be backed up

Re: Location of /stand mount point ?
Any changes apply to this other /stand, so it is never used for boot.
Fix the fstab file.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Location of /stand mount point ?
Thks - Im assuming the lvlnboot -R wasnt run either.
Ok so you are suggesting that /stand was mounted on lvol13 but the kernel still thinks its on lvol1 ?
The if im getting you, editing the fstab and rebooting will resolve ? The original lvol1 has bad block set to off....

Re: Location of /stand mount point ?
This is the default. Don't change.
Is there any reason for this lvol13???
The kerenl don't "think" it is booted from lvol1, it is in fact booted from lvol1!
The system reads the location from the LABEL file in LIF, this is what the system reports in "lvlnboot -v" - so you can be sure it is booted from LVOL1.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Location of /stand mount point ?
Let me start off by saying I believe you. Im not debating your conclusion. What I am however asking is: why is IGNITE saying theres no FS mounted on lvol1, why is bdf showing that its mounted on lvol13, even jolly old SAM says theres an unmounted FS on lvol1. We cant ignore those messages over the others. The fact that the lvnlnboot
ouput contradicts the other items cant be ignored. - Im interested to know why.
So, would a fix simply be editing fstab ?

Re: Location of /stand mount point ?
If you backup LVOL1, the ignite backup is most likely useless.
Your system is still booting from LVOL1, once this is gone, your system will not boot again.
Do you want to try this???
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Location of /stand mount point ?
I dont know. I wasnt involved in this setup. I can only point out that bdf, SAM, lvdisplay and lvlnboot dont match up
