Lucent K56flex LT Win Modem

I have HP 8160 Pavilion PC from 1997 and I have never upgraded the modem drivers. Well actually I did once and it completely hosed up my modem. The HP Helpdesk told me they knew this "bug" existed but had not updated their DOWNLOAD site in the HP Website. Does anyone know if we can now SUCCESSFULLY UPGRADE the Lucent K56flex LT Win Modem drivers from the HP web site?

A WinModem is not a proper modem, but you may want to check the following website, which makes some information about using WinModems with LINUX available.

The WINModems are not Hardware modems which can be used with Linux.

Although some manufacturers are coming around on releasing their software drivers, I still prefer the the traditional Hardware used in the US Robotics.

I have found a considerable amount of info on the Previous reference page (although I cannot use it really), I have also found that there is considerable information on 56k.com - they might have some useful links for updates on your modem (it's that what you wanted in the first place????).
