ML370 G3

I am having a problem getting into rescue mode with redhat 9.0 cd 1. Soon after it loads the aic7xxx driver it crashes. I believe there are problems with Redhat 9. Does Redhat 8 support Proliant ML370 G3 with the 641 Smart Array controller or is there a work around with Redhat 9?

Please could anyone give me some pointers for the same. Help is greatly appreciated.

Re: ML370 G3

Hi,

Have a look at the following link

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/install-guide/ch-bootopts.html

as you see there are many option there, you best bet is noprobe.

it go's like this ..

after booting cd and before autoload type

linux noprobe

this may do the job, when I run into real problems on i386/AMD I usualy use knoppix cd to the rescue..

also make sure your bio's and you adapter card is seen by hardware before attempting anything fancy.

Hope this will get you up and running.
