Mandrake 9.0 on hp laptop...
I have an hp pavilion ze5000 and I recently installed Mandrake 9.0. I am however having two main problems...
1) When I shut down or restart, after Mandrake stops all processes, it just hangs at the line POWER DOWN or RESTARTING. It won't shut down unless I press the power button.
2) My mouse's scroll wheel won't work? I've tried putting it in the PS/2 port and USB, it won't work? Any ideas?
Thanks for any and all help!

Hi,
1) is the apmd daemon running ?
If not, issue on the command line as root :
# chkconfig --add apmd
# chkconfig --level 12345 apmd on
2) What type is your mouse ?
See the /etc/sysconfig/mouse file.
The mousedrake command can also help (exists in Mdk8.2, don't know for Mdk9).
HTH,
