We are installing Oracle 9.2.06 and we have very large files (table files). We want to extend the maximum filesize limit to 500Gb.
Which kernel parameter do I have to modify? Which actions do I have to take?
Thanks in advance,
Erwin

Re: Maximum filesize limit
If you are running appropriate versions of both, you just need to make sure that you have the largefiles option turned on for your filesystems.

SolutionWhether or not this is posssible will depend upon your release and your JFS (VxFS) versions. For details, see the white paper, here:
http://docs.hp.com/en/5971-2383/5971-2383.pdf
You will need to enable 'largefiles' for the filesystem in question. See the manpages for 'fsadm_vxfs' for more details, too.
Regards!

Re: Maximum filesize limit
You should take a look at the memory advice given in this doc.
