Measuring per-process cpu-utilization
Hi. I would like to measure the time spent
executing in user and system mode for a single process with millisecond granularity on on HP-UX 11i v1 PA-RISC.
I have been using the pstat interface but pst_utime and pst_stime only measure seconds?
How does the pst_cpticks and pst_cptickstotal
fields work?
How do I use the pstcycles fields and how do I handle counter overflows?
I have been looking at the HP prospect tool but I can only get it to summarize metrics?
End result is that I want a graph
with wall clock time on X axis and cpu time on Y axis for a single PID

Re: Measuring per-process cpu-utilization
Shalom,
I'm not even sure measureware/glance keep statistics in milliseconds.
If there is not data like this available, I don't see how you can achieve the granularity you desire.
