Missing /usr/include/sys/types.h

Hi,

During oracle installation we have a problem with missing file /usr/include/sys/types.h. First I thought, that this file is part of C Compiler, but on other machines is file present without C Compiler. Is there any way how to get it without installing compiler?

Thanks for help...

Re: Missing /usr/include/sys/types.h

Of course - you don't need a compiler on HP-UX to install Oracle...

For 11.23 and 11.31 at least the file you are after is in the fileset

ProgSupport.C-INC

Not sure about 11.11, but probably the same fileset... what OS version are you running?

This would normally always be installed on a system unless you went with some kind of "minimal install" when you installed the OS.

So see if you have that fileset installed and if not, install off the core OS DVD.

Re: Missing /usr/include/sys/types.h

well then you should have that file... looking at my system, I see the same set of patches and yyet I do see that file...

what do you get from:

swlist -l fileset -a state ProgSupport.C-INC

and

swverify ProgSupport.C-INC

Hi Duncan...

It seems to be ok:

# Initializing...
# Contacting target "hostname"...

# Target: hostname:/
#

ProgSupport.C-INC configured

sh root> swverify ProgSupport.C-INC

Re: Missing /usr/include/sys/types.h

I wonder if you hit bthis known issue described here:

http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-5814/pr01s08.html

See the issue entitled "Install or Update of an Older OE with Certain Patches in a Combined Depot May Result in Errors"

There's a workaround described there as well.
