I'd appreciate it if you could offer some advice on the following.
We run several HP11.11 servers all of which run Oracle8/9 databases.
We also run Tivoli software on them, ie TEC and TWS, both of which were happy with.
Im currently evaluating solutions to monitor and alert out on oracle and hpux problems, and at the moment I'm working with Tivoli ITM and ITM for oracle.
I can say in all honesty that we are very unlikely to purchase ITM as it is very unreliable and to be honest does not seem to work very well at all.
So my question is what do you guys use for enterprise monitoring of oracle and hpux, or are you aware of any software that does ? And preferably it should integrate with tivoli enterprise console.
Many thanks,
Nick.
ps please accept my apologies if this is way off topic.

SolutionFor trend analysis we use Lund Performance Solutions (www.lund.com). Using workloads, we track system utilization of certain processes, and users to effectively analyze our system and make future system upgrade recommendations. Lund also has a realtime monitoring application, but it's not as "clean" as Glance.

Re: Monitoring software
System Healthcheck (SHC) is a suite of tools that assesses the health of your computing environment by identifying security, performance and configuration problems before they can impact your critical operations. These tools are used to support the SHC assessment service.

Re: Monitoring software
Unfortunately we need to keep our Tivoli TEC and TWS. We just want something that can monitor oracle and hpux and then send alerts into TEC, or can at least execute a command which would send an alert into TEC with postemsg.
