Multiple VC NICS appearing in HP SIM as disconnected
Blade is a BL460 G1 running VMware ESX 4.1i. I’ve configured the first 2 NICS in Vmware for the management network and configured 2 Ethernet network connections within the VC for them and alls well there.
Issue is that when HP SIM reports on this blade, it shows the unused NICs as disconncected (as below) and places the server with a major health status.
Status Name Port Type Description Include Status Current State
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK Broadcom Corporation NC373i Integrated Multifunction Gigabit Server Adapter 1000Base-SX Ethernet port 1 on ethernet controller 1 true The system is functioning normally.

Error Broadcom Corporation NC325m PCIe Quad Port Adapter 1000Base-SX Ethernet port 1 on ethernet controller 3 true A network interface has failed or redundancy has been lost.

Any pointers with regards to “disabling the unused NICs or telling HP SIM to ignore them gratefully received.
Thanks

Re: Multiple VC NICS appearing in HP SIM as disconnected
Once these not-connected Vmnics are disabled at OS level it will not show up in SIM monitoring.
