NFS Automount weirdness

I have a couple of automounts defined that seem to "break" every few days after working fine. If I run "automount -v" they appear as if they are changed entries in the automount maps:
server1# automount -v
automount: /users/devc_tps01/tdfdev mounted
automount: /users/tdfqa mounted
automount: /users/devc_tps01/mounts/releases mounted
automount: /users/devc_tps01/tps/releases unmounted
automount: /users/devc_tps01/tps/ct/fof/input unmounted
automount: /users/devc_tps01/tps/qa/fof/input unmounted
server1# ls /users/tdfqa
server1# automount -v
automount: /users/devc_tps01/tdfdev mounted
automount: /users/tdfqa mounted
automount: /users/devc_tps01/mounts/releases mounted
automount: /users/devc_tps01/tps/releases unmounted
automount: /users/devc_tps01/tps/ct/fof/input unmounted
automount: /users/devc_tps01/tps/qa/fof/input unmounted

I see this in the log:

Sep 29 15:05:01 brocklin automountd[29791]: server howard:/users/tact2tps/input is up but can not get the device id! errno= 2

If I change the auto mount map to mount it to another location, it works. Then it stops working in a couple days again.

Happening from serveral NFS servers, they are Solaris 10. No problems with the other 20 automounts on the server has far as I can tell.
